AMoS FILM FESTIVAL
The AMoS Film Festival is the first film festival focused on the sea. Its aim is to link one of Europe’s largest marine parks with high-quality cinema. Through this connection, the festival aspires to highlight the splendor of the marine environment and, by extension, to raise interest in marine conservation and awareness of global ocean issues, and communicate messages related to sustainable development.
At the same time, the festival aims to highlight the National Marine Park of Alonnisos Northern Sporades as a good example of integrated and holistic management of a Marine Protected Area and to promote the participation of the local community in optimizing its protection.
The Festival includes various types of cinema, such as documentaries, fiction, and animated films, but all are connected in some way to the grandeur of the marine environment. Alongside the film screenings, the festival hosts events and activities that reinforce the festival’s message about the conservation of marine ecosystems.
The AMoS Film Festival begins its journey this year with the vision of becoming a regular meeting point for people involved in the arts and ecology and highlighting the power of filmmaking to inspire, raise awareness, and support the protection of the marine environment.
